Travelling - which gadgets to take?
Tomorrow night I leave for Melbourne for a few and have been thinking about what gadgets to take with me. I've finally decided on taking both the OQO e2 and the Dell XT. I would like to take just one device to save weight and space, but the two devices fulfil different requirements.
I'll use the Dell XT for development in Visual Studio 2008 and Expression Studio as I am working on a new site and new project for work, costing out Medical Staff rosters. I'll use the OQO for checking emails and catching up on my feeds at the airport, on the bus to the hotel and around the city. The OQO is a great portable device and coupled with a HSDPA connection, it is the ultimate mobile computing experience.
Here's the full list of gadgets coming with me across the border:
- Dell XT - review here and here
- OQO e2 - quick review
- Optus USB modem - essential for the trip
- Microsoft Zune - 30GB
- iPod Shuffle - product (RED) - used for audible books
- 80GB external drive for backup and with my work data on it
- Palm Treo 750 running Windows Mobile 6
Updated: I forgot my Tech-Ed 2007 bag, my favourite gadget bag :-)
