Windows Vista RTMs
Mike Nash from the Windows Product Management Group, has today announced that Windows Vista SP1 has been released to manufacturing (RTM). Although consumers will not see Vista SP1 in Windows Update until mid-march, this is partly due to a driver installation issue that causes system crashes under SP1 and partly due to Microsoft wanting New PCs and Windows Updates to be released at the same time.
Microsoft are planning on releasing updates through Windows Update to fix this driver issue (basically re-installing the driver, but without the end user input) so that SP1 can be delivered. New PCs and Retail versions will also be available around this time.
